Northern Adventures

Travel and Photography

My Northern Adventures, carried out mainly in the Arctic part of Scandinavia, are focused on discovering pure nature via multi-day, self sufficient walking exploration. Solo or in a minimal company, for pure encounter, and absorption. The below, regroup my trips to Sarek National Park and the Kungsleden trail, as well, as the walk around Loch Ness in Scotland.
Sarek National Park
May, 2025
10 days, 120 km from Ritsem to Saltouokta. Mountains higher than 2,000 metres and almost 100 glaciers. Long, deep, narrow valleys and wild, turbulent waters. A tortuous delta landscape. A high alpine area where the Sami people have lived from time immemorial. Completely lacking in comfortable accommodations. This is where visitors and the wild World Heritage Site meet. Sarek is a totally wild national park with no infrastructure. So you are on your own, no bridges, no huts, only reindeers in abondance, mountains, rivers… whatever you may want in Northern Expeditions…
Kungsleden South
May, 2025
Winding from Sälen to Storlien, the southern Kungsleden trail offers a gentler yet equally rewarding journey through pine forests, open marshes, and mountain plateaus. Less traveled than the north, this route invites solitude, slow beauty, and a deep connection with Sweden’s pastoral heartland.
Kungsleden North
May, 2025
Trek through birch forests, alpine tundra, and glacier-fed valleys on the legendary northern stretch of the Kungsleden Trail. Starting in Abisko and winding south toward Nikkaluokta, this remote route immerses you in the heart of Lapland’s dramatic wilderness—home to the Sami people, midnight sun, and untouched serenity.
Loch Ness 360
April, 2025
The Loch Ness 360° Trail is an epic walking, cycling, running and outdoor activity trail in the Scottish Highlands. The trail loops the entire circumference of Loch Ness. You start and finish in the Highland Capital of Inverness. I did in 6 days, stopping in key small towns on the way for a night. Walking distance is between 15 and 32 km a day, from 4 to 8 hours. I recommend spending half a day in Port Augustus and making a boat trip on the Loch. The landscape varies from Hills to fields, woods and small roads…
